Paris Brest

A French boulangerie that’ll quench your thirst for croissants

Address: 107a Zarifa Aliyeva, Baku

I don’t know about you, but there’s something about an apricot danish that just screams relaxed weekend morning to me! It reminds me of a time when I could sit in a cozy cafe’ chair for a whole morning drinking lattes, reading a good book, and getting increasingly more and more covered in delicious buttery flaky crumbs. Oh the halcyon days of free time…

Having spotted some massive, delicious-looking danishes in a window during a first short gander around Baku, for our first breakfast, we headed into Paris Breast, a tiny-looking (but deceptively large) French boulangerie just around the corner from the JW Marriott, in the swanky Port Baku area.

We sat in the bright (if a little crammed) seating area at the back of the shop and tucked into a fabulous flaky apricot danish (so large, in fact, that we shared it between the two of us) and nice coffees. The menu on offer is extensive and includes several brunch classics, and we ordered a nice bowl of porridge and fresh fruit for Little Foodie, who very much enjoyed it from his high chair!
